Breed Groom Profile – Poodles
Poodles of any size require regular grooming every 4-8 weeks. Because poodles, and poodle types, will spend a certain part of their lives in a grooming shop, the sooner you can begin having him groomed, the better!
While the fluffy, fuzzy poodle puppy coat is just too cute, it can be helpful to have the coat taken short a time or two to help the firm, characteristic adult poodle coat to develop.
A wide variety of poodle clips are available, however, all clips are not always compatible to all types of coat. A scissored lamb clip may look simply wonderful on you neighbor’s dog, but may look choppy and uneven on yours, due to different textures and qualities of coats.
Poodles should be groomed every 4-8 weeks, depending on the clip you choose. Remember, a well maintained dog is a happy dog.
